Friends of Second Marsh (FSM), its predecessor the Second Marsh Defence Association (SMDA), Second Marsh, and the McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve (MBWR) are all deeply rooted in the cultural and natural heritage of Oshawa. On October 20th, FSM will share the story of FSM, Second Marsh and the MBWR through photos and story-telling, examining the decline of the Marsh due to settlers, the fight to save the marsh and marsh restoration, and loving the Marsh today.

October’s Local History Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday, October 20 at 6 PM.

LOCATION CHANGE: The Speaker Series will be held at the John Aker Northview Branch of the Oshawa Public Library, located at 250 Beatrice Street East.

The Local History Speaker Series is an event presented in partnership between the Oshawa Historical Society and the Oshawa Public Libraries.
