October Speaker Series: Henry House Archaeology Excavations

04 May 18 (17)On Tuesday, October 16, the Oshawa Historical Society is welcoming Dr. Helen Haines, Trent University Durham, for our popular Speaker Series.  She will be discussing the Henry House Archaeological Excavations, specifically the most recent dig in May 2018, what was learned about the Henry family, what artefacts were found, and why such excavations are important.

This month’s Speaker Series is in lead-up to International Archaeology Day, started by the Archaeology Institute of America as an opportunity for institutions to create and share Archaeology based programming.  International Archaeology Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of October; this year is it October 20.

The Oshawa Historical Society’s September Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday, October 16 at 7PM. The Speaker Series will be held at the Arts Resource Centre, located at 45 Queen Street, Oshawa. Admission to the Oshawa Historical Society Speaker Series is $3 or FREE for members of the Oshawa Historical Society.
