Speaker Series & AGM Review – The Canadian Automotive Museum

On Tuesday, April 21, the Oshawa Historical Society held its 57th Annual General Meeting, with over 70 people in attendance.  We thank the members of the Society and the community for their continued support of our organization and of local history.

Before we welcomed Canadian Automotive Museum Curator Alexander Gates, to begin his talk, two volunteers were honoured with awards.  Donna Martino was the recipient of the Earl Hann Volunteer of the Year Award, and Ksenia Gayvoronskaya was the recipient of the first Youth Volunteer of the Year Award.  We thank both Donna, Ksenia, and all of our hardworking and dedicated volunteers for the support you have offered us through the years.

Alex Gates gave a highly interested talk on the seven Rolls-Royces that are in the collection of the Canadian Automotive Museum.  Stories were told of Silver Ghosts, Phantoms, and the owners who made these cars their own.  Many thanks to Alex for sharing these stories!
