In 1967, the doors of the Oshawa Art Gallery first opened on Simcoe Street, and a short two years later, The Robert McLaughlin Gallery opened, with the support of Ewart McLaughlin and his wife Alexandra Luke. Through the last fifty years, this organization has grown to be the largest public art gallery in Durham Region, boasting a collection of over 4,500 works and are dedicated to the collection, preservation, and exhibition of the best in Canada’s art heritage.

Join the Oshawa Historical Society on Tuesday, February 21 when we welcome The Robert McLaughlin Gallery (RMG) Senior Curator Linda Jansma as she shares the history of The RMG, highlighting their significant collection of contemporary Canadian art and in particular the works of the Painters 11.  February’s Speaker Series is presented in partnership with The RMG.

The Oshawa Historical Society’s February Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday February 21 at 7PM. The Speaker Series will be held at the McLaughlin Branch of the Oshawa Public Library, located at 65 Bagot Street, Oshawa.

Admission to the Oshawa Historical Society Speaker Series is $3 or FREE for members of the Oshawa Historical Society or members of The RMG.
