Summer Teas at the Oshawa Museum

Enjoy a low tea in the garden with the Oshawa Community Museum’s summer Victorian Teas. Whether English Breakfast, Earl Grey or Peppermint, guests of the museum select a tea of their choice, along with some light refreshments and get to spend a couple of hours enjoying their tea in the museum’s Victorian garden. When tea time comes to an end, guests are encouraged to take a tour of the museum from a costumed guide.

There are two sittings for the teas, the first at 11:30 a.m. and the second at 1:30 p.m., on July 11 & 25, 2013 as well as on August 8 & 22, 2013. Registration prior to date is required and the cost is $10 for Oshawa Historical Society members and $15 for non-members.

We are also hosting a Tea and Lecture in celebration of the new quilt exhibit, Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt Collection. On July 21, 2013, enjoy a low-tea and learn about how quilting has changed since the 1900s with Joyce O’Connell. Afterwards, visit Common Threads and see how stories of Oshawa are woven into quilts and how this can help us piece together the fabric of history. Registration prior to date is required and the cost is $20.
