Speaker Series & AGM Review – April 2013

Firstly, a big ‘Thank You’ to the over 70 people who attended our Speaker Series for April and the Oshawa Historical Society’s Annual General Meeting.  The night was a huge success!  Business was conducted, volunteers were honoured, members were recognized, and curator Melissa Cole regaled us with the history of the Oshawa Railway!

Did you know that the bulk of business of the Oshawa Railway came from freight service, this helped to lead to the growth of businesses in Oshawa?  For more information about the history of the Oshawa Railway, please be sure to visit the museum and take in our latest exhibit, Tales from the Tracks: The History of the Oshawa Street Railway!

Thank you Volunteers and OHS Members!
