What was a battle during the War of 1812 like? To find the answer, one could read about it, perhaps watch a movie or documentary, or they could get involved with historical re-enacting, a pastime that is growing in popularity!  On Tuesday, January 19, 2016, Sarah Coates will be discussing her experiences as a War of 1812 re-enactor in the 1st Kentucky Rifle Regiment, Hickman’s Company. Find out why some people choose to re-enact and how you can get involved.

As well, we are excited to welcome Heritage Oshawa who will present on who they are, what they do, and about Oshawa’s built heritage.

The Oshawa Historical Society’s October Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday January 19 at 7PM. The Speaker Series will be held at the McLaughlin Branch of the Oshawa Public Library, located at 65 Bagot Street, Oshawa.
