March Speaker Series: Canadians and the US Civil War

From 1861 to 1865, Americans found themselves in a significant conflict, today known as the American Civil War.  Canadians were not isolated from this conflict, with this war being one factor towards Confederation, and some Canadians joined in the fighting.  On March 20, the Oshawa Historical Society is welcoming researcher Mike McDonnell as he shares stories of why Canadians became involved in that war and the legendary battles in which they fought.

The Oshawa Historical Society’s March Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday, March 20 at 7PM. The Speaker Series will be held at the Arts Resource Centre, located at 45 Queen Street, Oshawa. Admission to the Oshawa Historical Society Speaker Series is $3 or FREE for members of the Oshawa Historical Society.
