In this conversation with Archivist Melissa J. Nelson, we reflect on Black traditions of remembering as acts of Love for the community. Black people have always gathered to remember together in resistance to historical erasure. Join us as we explore what has been collected, what is remembered in community, and what the future of these “Black memory work” practices could be.

March’s Local History Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday, March 17 at 6 PM. The Speaker Series will be held at the McLaughlin Branch of the Oshawa Public Libraries, in the lower level auditorium, located at 65 Debwewin Miikan.

The Local History Speaker Series is an event presented in partnership between the Oshawa Historical Society and the Oshawa Public Libraries.
