Join the Oshawa Historical Society and retired nurse, Nancy McLeod, who will share with us portions of her Victorian Medical collection. She has collected over 200 pieces of 19th century medical memorabilia. Playing the role of Medical practitioner of the Victorian Era, she will discuss the darker side of the bygone medical practices during the Victorian Medicine Show that will be held at the McLaughlin Branch of the Oshawa Public Libraries, in the auditorium on Tuesday February 21 @ 7pm. The show will feature demonstrations of 19th century medical tools and highlight the agonizing methods used to treat toothaches, headaches, amputations and infections.
