Victorian Medicine Show – Review

The nurse came, she diagnosed, and she entertained!  Thank you to the 53 people who attended this week’s Speaker Series!  Nancy MacLeod was our speaker and she shared with us traditional Victorian medicinal practices.  Teeth were pulled, brains were operated on, limbs were sawed off, and leeches were used to try to remove bad blood.

Nancy used humour to share how the Victorians treated patients 100 years ago, and she brought along her collection of medical instruments.  Below are a number of images from the meeting.

Thank you again to all in attendance, and thank you to Nancy for the entertaining evening!
