In recognition of Black History Month, the Oshawa Historical Society is delighted to have author and historian Peter Meyler speak on his publication A Stolen Life: Searching for Richard Pierpoint. Mr. Meyler will explore the life of Richard Pierpoint, Ontario’s first African settlers, who fought with the Butler’s Rangers regiment during the American Revolutionary War and later fought alongside the British during the War of 1812.
The Oshawa Historical Society’s February Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday, February 19th at 7PM. The meetings are held at the Oshawa Public Library, McLaughlin Branch Auditorium, located at 65 Bagot Street, Oshawa. Admission to the Oshawa Historical Society Speaker Series is $3 or FREE for members of the Oshawa Historical Society.
