The Oshawa Railway ran from 1895 to the 1960s, operating streetcar and freight services, with tracks throughout the downtown streets. Finding inspiration in railways, Broken Arts, an Oshawa based not-for-profit arts group, will host an art show with pieces centred on the theme of railroads, titled Life on the Rails. The art show will be featured at the Oshawa Community Museum, in the Verna Conant Gallery in Guy House.
Life on the Rails will open on May 24, 2013, and will run for two weeks. The opening reception will be held at the Oshawa Community Museum on May 24, from 7-9PM. All are welcome to view the art created by local artists, listen to live music, enjoy light refreshments, and take a tour of the museum’s newest exhibition, Tales from the Tracks: The Oshawa Street Railway.
