Thank you to everyone who submitted entries into the Guy House Photography Contest. We received 35 entries, and they were judged in early July by OCM Executive Director Laura Suchan, OCM Curator Melissa Cole, OCM Archivist Jennifer Weymark, and OCM Visitor Experience Co-ordinator Jillian Passmore.
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Paul Howard was the overall winner of the contest, and Mr. Howard will receive a colour copy of the publication If This House Could Talk: The Story of Guy House when it is released in late Fall 2014. Mr. Howard will also receive mention in the Fall edition of Historical Happenings, a $50 honorarium and a complimentary 1 year membership to the Oshawa Historical Society. Congratulations Mr. Howard!
Honourable mentions are made to Linda Bazowsky, Paul James, and Don Wotton. They will also receive mention in Fall’s Historical Happenings.
We plan on exhibiting the top photographs from all three Houses Photography Contests that have been held over the past three years inside Guy House in Fall 2014. Thank you again to all those who submitted photographs, and we are looking forward to seeing you in Fall!
