March Speaker Series: The Florence McGillivray Story

IMG_2026Whitby born artist Florence McGillivray was a prolific landscape painter, an educator, a contemporary of the Group of Seven, and mentor to Tom Thomson. On March 17, the Oshawa Historical Society is welcoming Bill Allen, author of She is One of the Best:” A Researcher’s Notes on the Life and Times of Canadian Artist Florence McGillivray, who will be discussing the life and works of McGillivray.

The Oshawa Historical Society’s March Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday, March 17 at 7PM. The Speaker Series will be held at the Arts Resource Centre, located at 45 Queen Street, Oshawa. Admission to the Oshawa Historical Society Speaker Series is $3 or FREE for members of the Oshawa Historical Society.
