So much of a community’s history can be found in the pages of the local newspaper. They offer a direct, tactile portal to the past. While there have been newspapers since the earliest days of Oshawa, sadly not all have survived into the present day. Local History Librarian, Nicole Adams, will explore the history of newspapers in Oshawa, what has survived and where they can be accessed.
The Local History Speaker Series is taking place Tuesday, January 17 at 6PM. The Speaker Series will be held at the McLaughlin Branch of the Oshawa Public Libraries, in the lower level auditorium, located at 65 Bagot Street, Oshawa.
The Local History Speaker Series is an event presented in partnership between the Oshawa Historical Society and the Oshawa Public Libraries.
Please note: The location and time of the Speaker Series is new for 2023. The location is the McLaughlin Branch of the Oshawa Public Libraries, starting at 6pm.
