Speaker Series Review – The Parkwood Greenhouse Conservation

On Tuesday, January 20, the Oshawa Historical Society was excited to kick off the 2015 Speaker Series season, and we were thrilled that Parkwood NHS Curator Samantha George started the season with us.  That evening, she discussed the Greenhouse Conservation project that Parkwood undertook throughout 2014, restoring the vinery greenhouse.  She detailed the thorough research that was performed to learn more about not only the physical structure of the Greenhouse, but also to learn more about what kinds of plants would have been grown there.

Many thanks to the members who attended, and thank you for the understanding about our temporary home for January and February at the Northview Branch.
